Halfway through August, can you believe it? Here are this weekend's tips and tricks to help you days run a little smoother.
Tip #1: Invest is a really good neutral palette that you can create several different looks from. You want to have a roster of several "everyday" looks for times when that awesome neon purple with glitter look just won't cut it. Palettes tend to give you more bang for your buck as well!
Tip#2: Hair looking a little flat? Mix a pinch or two of baking soda into your dollop of shampoo to help get rid of product build up and give your hair a nice boost. Do this at least once a month for best results.
Tip #3: Clean your tweezers and nail clippers/scissors at least one a month with some rubbing alcohol. This will not only keep them clean but help prevent bacteria buildup that can lead to a nasty infection.
Tip #4: To much static making your hair a frizzy mess? Put a dryer sheet on your hairbrush (push it down so the bristles are poking through it) and brush your hair a few times with it. The dryer sheet will help relieve most of the static electricity and leave your hair smelling great.

Thanks for the tips! I just bought the Urban Decay Naked Basics and it is a perfect neutral palette to go along with any look! Also, I'm really looking forward to trying your tip #4, I have super frizzy hair and am always looking for ways to help.
ReplyDeleteGlad you like them! #4 is weird but totally works, I use it a ton when I'm wearing fuzzy sweaters.
DeleteHey! I am soooooo obsessed with neutral eye shadow shades. I've actually busted out my original Naked palette and been playing around with it again, and you're right it's so great to have some go-to looks up my sleeve for when I'm rushing to work. Also, I did not know about the shampoo tip, good to know!
ReplyDeleteAny tips for dark under eye circles/bags under eyes/generally making tired eyes look awake? I could definitely use that! Thanks!

I do actually, I'll make sure to include them in Saturday's Tips and Tricks. Thanks for the suggestion!
DeleteExcellent tips! A couple I never knew! Thank you
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked them, thanks for stopping by!
Deletetotally agree with #1 and #2 from experience. I have multiple neutral palettes and I had a phase where I only washed my hair with baking soda!
ReplyDeleteI did the "no poo" thing for a little bit too, kind of fried my hair so I stopped doing just baking soda. Now I just do the baking soda add in every few weeks. Thanks for stopping by!
