Adovia Intensive Anti-Wrinkle Cream

*I received this product free for testing purposes, but all opinions expressed are my own.*

Sometimes I feel like the evil Queen from Snow White, with all of the anti-aging products I seem to acquire and test out on a fairly regular basis. But as any skin care guru will tell you, the earlier you start really taking care of your skin the better and easier it will be to keep it looking young and fresh. Adovia Mineral Skin Care has a product they label as an "Intensive Anti-Wrinkle Cream", so when I was offered a chance to test and review it I said of course. This is a thick cream you apply and massage into your face and neck daily and is suppose to reduce wrinkles and fine lines while also firming and moisturizing it.

First I have to talk about the scent, before I get to anything else. Hopefully some of you are old enough to remember Jafra, which was basically Avon before there really was an Avon. My Grandmother loved them and she always wore this perfume by them, which (sorry Grandma) was definetly an old lady perfume. I bring this up because this cream smells EXACTLY like that perfume smelled. So basically it smells like a jar full of old ladies. Not really want I want to rub on my face, but luckily the scent disappears pretty quickly.

As an anti-wrinkle product, I'm going to be brutily honest here, it sucks. After a week of using it I saw almost no improvement on the wrinkle front. Some of the finer wrinkles were gone, and I do realize things like this take time, but if I don't notice anything after a week I typically pull it out of my skin care routine. You should really give anti-aging products a month to gauge their effectiveness, but to quote the internet, "ain't nobody got time for that!"

Here is where I am going to shock you and say I actually really like this product. As an anti-aging product it may suck but as a night time moisturizer this thing kicks some serious butt. There are tons of good for your skin ingredients in it, like aloe, sweet almond oil, papaya extract, and dead sea salt. The weather has turned freezing here (33 degrees F here as I type) with crazy strong wind so my skin is super dry right now. But this stuff is doing wonders for my face at night. And so far no breaks outs from it, which is always a major plus. Now this is thick so I recommend using it at night, I think it would feel to heavy during the day under your makeup. Oddly enough the box says this can be used as your foundation, but it's white and when massaged in you can't see it so I have no idea what that means.

Overall, I'm not sure if I can recommend this product. I love it as a moisturizer and will continue to use it till the jar is empty, which should take a while, but it seems weird to buy a anti-wrinkle cream just for the moisturizing perks. Especially when it doesn't work very well. I will report back after using it for a solid month, maybe it will have won me over completely by then. If you want to purchase it you can find it on Amazon.com and is currently priced at $24.37 (as of 11/14/2014), but the actual list price is $49 so not a cheap product. And if you have a Prime account you can get free 2 day shipping on this as well.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
