Thursday Thoughts

Another Thursday, another link up with Ramblings of a Suburban Mom. I'm going to continue using pictures, I think it worked really well last time and I liked the visual.

The weather has turned super nasty and cold here, it is 37 degrees Fahrenheit here right now. The cold wouldn't be so bad if the wind would die down a bit. So very cold right now, I'm hopping into a hot bath tub as soon as I hit the publish button.

I finished Gone Girl last week, I'll save my thought on it for my review later this month, but I've started the second book from the box set. I seem to think the three books are not connected at all, which is good because I am sick of Nick and Amy to be truthful. So far liking Dark Places better, but I'm only a third of the way through it so far. I'm a very fast reader, so if I can actually find me time this week I should have it done soon. Then onto Sharp Thinks. I also won the Amy Poehler book from Birchbox (being a Birchblogger is the best thing ever), so I want to get these done so I can focus on that once it arrives later this week.

Speaking of Birchbox, my actual order from them arrived on Monday. The shave kit is for my husband, so far he likes it but I'll wait to post anything else about it till he's tried it a few more times. The Beauty Protector is a fave of mine, hence why I bought the full sized bottle. The teenie tiny tube is my free gift with purchase, a Supergoop eye cream. Honestly if I had known how tiny the tube was going to be I'd have picked a different gift. The yellow bottle is Not Soap Radio's lemon sugar scented bubble bath (smells soooo good) that I will be using in tonight's bath. That and the mirror was my mystery pack that you get free with any $35+ purchase. Didn't know a mirror counted as a sample, little peeved about that but the 4 free books I've received more than makes up for it I guess. And who can't use another travel mirror?

I had some Ulta points that were expiring soon so I fed my Freeman Beauty mask addiction. Really like them all, but the chocolate strawberry one is my new favorite (though the charcoal and black sugar one is my super favorite of all time). If you want to see my full thoughts on them all, click here.

I mentioned last week that I was going back to the clearance bin at Marshall's, these are my finds. Another bottle of the Derma E lotion, an Essie nail polish in a dark silver color, and I actually found a Julep nail polish there for $2! The color is this sea salt textured sky blue, which is growing on me the more I use it. Who knew Marshall's carried Julep? All total I paid $9 for these items, pretty pleased with myself right now. Loving Essie, any suggestions on colors I NEED?

    1. If you only get one get the charcoal and black sugar one. That thing is seriously amazing and will suck all the nasty stuff out of your pores.
