Hello and welcome to another week's edition of Thursday Thoughts, my weekly link up with Ramblings of a Suburban Mom. I have a lot to talk about so I'm just going to dive right in.
As I mentioned in yesterday's post, my son got super sick at the end of last week so I missed several posts in addition to that being my first weekend of no posts. Needless to say I am super behind in posts now so I'm going to have to go back to a Saturday and Sunday post just to get back on schedule. I will not start the Weekend Tips and Tricks post back up, for right now Saturday will be another product review. But what I am going to do is include a tip at the end of every post so you guys will still be getting great budget tips. Would you guys like Saturday to just be more product reviews or is there a specific theme you'd like to see?
Quick Project Pan Spring 2015 update. I haven't finished anything but I'm about three days away from being done with the ELF tinted lip balm and I depotted the Ulta shadow I was working on into a jar so that should be done by next Thursday as well. Pretty happy with my progress so far, how are you guys doing? Remember, use the hashtag #ProjectPanSpring2015 if you want me to see your progress on Instagram.
I heard somewhere that Martha Stewart uses a face mask every single day and that's why her skin looks so amazing, so I've been trying to do one every single day as well for the last week and I have to say I'm impressed. My skin is looking pretty good right now minute a little bit of stress acne. I've been trying to rotate between my hoard of masks so I'm using a different one everyday, and I'm super happy with this decision. I'm almost done with the three little masks that I received in various Birchboxes, so this is also a great way to whittle down my collection a bit. So if you are having skin issues, maybe give this a try as well.
My empties for January weren't interesting enough to dedicate an entire post to so I'll just quickly run through them. Some of the items are things I use all the time, like the wipes and the hair mask so I'm constantly repurchasing them. Loved the Tarte BB Cream and the shower gel in the top right corner, but both are a bit outside of my budget so I won't be buying full sized things. Everything else was either not outstanding or I didn't like them, but not enough to rant about. A decent amount of empties though, and some of them were things I really needed to finish.
I hit up Ulta the other day to take advantage of their buy one get one half off sale for NYX cosmetics and as you can see I got a whole army of new lipsticks. I'm be doing a full review with swatches next week, but I've tried them all and am really happy with this purchase. Enough so I may be getting more this weekend. All total with the sale and coupon ($3.50 off a $10 purchase) I got ten lipsticks for just over $26, which is a pretty sweet deal.
Daily Tip: Bathtub products with ingredients that contain sugar products in it are a big no-no for people with vaginas. This can quickly lead to a yeast infection, which will not go away on it's own. That also means food products should be avoided down there as well, sorry to ruin any fun Valentine's Day plans.
