Foxbrim Vitamin C Lotion

*I received this product free for testing/reviewing purposes. All opinions are my own and are freely given*

In the last year I've really stepped my skin care routine, so I'm always trying new products and looking for that holy grail. If you remember from about a month or two ago I tried a Vitamin C serum that did not great things to my skin. So when I was given the opportunity to test out and review a Vitamin C lotion by Foxbrim, I was a little worried I was about to time warp back to my teenage days in terms of acne breakouts. So after a week of nightly testings here are my thoughts.

First, the packaging. I really love the pump action instead of being a squeeze tube. I find I have better control over how much I squirt out  and there's no product waste like with a heavy handed squeeze of my regular lotion tubes. The bottle isn't very big, 1.7 fl oz total so while it can be used as a body lotion I think you'd run out much to quickly. I loved the cute little fox mascot on the label, but the actual label looked like someone printed it up at home. I'd like to see a cleaner label next time with sharper edges on the print.

The actual lotion was very thick, so I only used it at night. It can be used either daytime or nighttime but I felt it was to greasy to want to wear under makeup. It absorbed just fine, just felt very thick on my face. After a week of use I did see improvement in the evenness of my skin, which was one of the promises of the product. It worked great as a moisturizer to, which was nice since its been below freezing here for the last week and my skin is DRY. It did make me break out a bit, but not enough that I'd never use it again.

Final impression. It's an American made product, which I like to support local companies as often as I can. It has pretty good packaging, so another plus there. The price wasn't bad, about $16 at the time of this writing. And the actual product worked well with no real bad stuff minus a bit of extra acne here and there. So I'm giving this my stamp of approval. It's not my Holy Grail nighttime face moisturizer, but I liked it enough I'll continue to use it and will recommend it to people looking for a new lotion.
