I was recently given the opportunity to review some interesting products from a company I know, like, and have reviewed on this blog before (the serum in the blue bottle is what I'm currently using every morning), so of course I said yes. Not only because I like this company but because I found the products so interesting. One was for a body part I often (aka always) neglect, while the other is a product I not only need but wish I had used 4 years ago. These are both fantastic products that are about as different as you can get and still be in the same category I think. Both speak to different people, so while one may not be your cup of tea the other may be.
First is the most intriguing product, for me at least, the Age Defense Neck Cream. It is am anti-aging lotion designed specifically for your neck and chest area. I will be the first to admit I really do forget about my neck during all of my skin care routines. I wash it in the shower and put sunscreen on the back only (oops) and that is it. I actually hadn't thought about the skin on my neck till I received the cream. I think "Lizard Person" were the first words out of my neck. And I'd bet my favorite lipstick I have some sun damage on it, even the back of it, from my days of sun worship and teenage belief that I would be totally fine. My sunscreen game has stepped up quite a bit since then but certain body parts are now dealing with the consequences. This products is packed full of ingredients to help fight the signs of aging (like loose skin) while improving the quality of the skin. So far the skin feels nicer, hard to tell if any sun damage is repairing just because its kind of hard to check out your own next. But I'm really happy with the results so far and will continue to use it nightly.
The second product is the one I wish I had when I was pregnant with my son, the Stretch Marks and Scars Defense Cream. Thick thick and creamy (and heavenly smelling) lotion is designed to help prevent stretch marks or help fade any stretch marks and scars you may have. The Shea and Cocoa butter plus Vitamin E mean this is seriously a rich lotion for your skin. There are so many oils and butters in it your skin would stay nice and supple and I bet would make a significant difference in the amount of stretch marks you would develop while pregnancy.
I've been using this every morning and every night on one half of my stomach for about a week or so and I'm beginning to see a softening up of the stretch marks and my surgery scars. The skin is also less tender (I have a lot of scar tissue that is very sensitive) and feels super soft. This is like cinnamon roll frosting in look and consistency and if I could I would climb into a bath full of it, I love it that much. Next time I have a pregnant friend I'll be buying them a jar of this for sure.
I ended up really enjoying both of these products, though if I had to pick one it would be the Stretch Marks and Scar Defense Cream. Both worked pretty well though and I'm overall very impressed with the Body Merry brand, I think they have a lot of good things.
